Southampton manager Ivan Juric was full of praise for Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu on Wednesday after the team’s stalemate against Crystal Palace in the English Premier League.
The Nigerian forward scored the opening goal to shoot Southampton into the lead on the matchday before a late strike by Crystal Palace forced the match to end in a 1-1 draw.
Speaking in a post-match interview, manager Ivan Juric singled out Paul Onuachu for praise, revealing that he is always working hard on training.

“He’s an incredible guy, always training hard,” Juric said as quoted on the Southampton website.

The manager continued, “He has some good things and some bad things he can do better, but he’s one of those guys that is always working hard.

“I think we prepared a good game. I expected more from Mateus – for me he will have a great future because he’s a great guy, working hard and he gives us a lot this season, but in this first 45 minutes he didn’t do what I wanted from him. Paul scored and put more energy.”

After his goal against Crystal Palace, Onuachu now has four goals and one assist after making 20 appearances in the English Premier League this season.
