Former Arsenal player, Paul Merson has drawn a comparison between club legend Dennis Bergkamp and unstoppable Liverpool poster boy Mohamed Salah.
Merson is of the view that although Salah is a much better player, Dennis Bergkamp is a much better footballer.
“Some people are better footballers than players. There’d be some who’s a better player, but they’re not a better footballer. Dennis Bergkamp is an unbelievable footballer. He didn’t put up the figures that Salah’s put up.
“Salah’s a much, much better player than him. But I wouldn’t say he’s a much, much better footballer than him,” Paul Merson said.
He continued, “Salah is the best player the Premier League has ever seen as he changes games on a consistent basis. No one has done that like him.”
Salah has been in sensational form in all competitions this season. He currently leads the English Premier League with goals and assists.
He is now a strong contender for the 2025 Ballon d’Or award.
