Paul Bassene leaves RS Berkane to become free agent after Botola Pro spell

Senegalese forward Paul Bassene has left RS Berkane to become a free agent after the end of the 2025-26 Botola Pro Inwi season, completing a free transfer away from the Moroccan club on 6 July 2026.

The 25-year-old centre-forward, who is left-footed and stands at 1.82m, departs Berkane with his market value currently listed at 800,000. He joins the pool of unattached players under the designation Without Club following his exit from the Moroccan top-flight side.

Bassene had been on the books of RS Berkane since August 2023, when he moved there from fellow Moroccan outfit Mouloudia d’Oujda. His value rose significantly during his time in Morocco, climbing from 75,000 at Oujda in November 2022 to its current 800,000, reflecting a steady upward trajectory across his early twenties.

Before arriving in the Botola Pro Inwi, Bassene developed in his homeland with CNEPS Excellence and then Teungueth FC in Senegal, earning a move to Oujda in September 2022. That switch marked his first step into Moroccan football, where he went on to establish himself as a central attacking option.

Born in Ziguinchor on 2 January 2001, Bassene is listed primarily as a centre-forward, capable of leading the line through the middle. His progression through Senegalese and Moroccan clubs has been accompanied by regular increases in his estimated market worth, with only brief dips before his valuation peaked again in June 2026.

Bassene now leaves RS Berkane at the height of his recorded market value, bringing his latest spell in the Moroccan top flight to a close as he becomes available on a free transfer.
