Patrick Vieira labels ‘Desire Doué’ as best young player in Europe
The head coach of Genoa and former French international, Patrick Vieira, has described PSG sensation Desire Doué as the best young player in Europe.
Doué had an outstanding campaign during the 2024/25 football season, helping PSG to win the treble, including a first UEFA Champions League trophy.
Courtesy of his displays, the forward has been named in the final shortlist for the 2025 Golden Boy award.
Sharing his thoughts on Desire Doué in an interview with Foot Mercato, Patrick Vieira said he believes the attacker is the best young player in Europe.
“Desire Doué is the best young player in Europe. Not only did he score in the Champions League final and show his talent, but he also developed at Rennes and is now improving at PSG,” Vieira said.
He continued, “Lamine Yamal can’t be nominated this year, so I think Doué will win. He’s a young player with great talent.”
“A club must create an environment where you can learn and make mistakes. Desire Doué is the perfect example of that. I think he’s the best of the best in the world.”
