Cameroonian football icon Patrick Mboma has warned potential opponents of the Indomitable Lions ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) draw.
The event, set for Rabat, Morocco, will determine the tournament’s group stage matchups.
Mboma emphasized the challenge for teams facing Cameroon, who are in Pot 2. “The AFCON will be difficult.
We are in the second pot, so one of the first six opponents could be the African champion or the host country.
But I am sure the teams in the first pot do not want Cameroon,” he said.

Cameroon, five-time champions, could face top-tier teams such as Morocco, Senegal, or reigning champions Ivory Coast.
Mboma called for thorough preparation, urging the squad to rediscover the glory they last achieved in 2017.
“What I hope is that Cameroon prepares well and we can find a conquering Cameroon.
It’s been a long time since 2017, so we must aim to bring that back,” Mboma added.
