Patrick Dorgu hands Manchester United key fitness boost

Manchester United have been handed a major lift with defender Patrick Dorgu stepping up his recovery from a hamstring injury suffered in January.

The Danish international has moved from indoor work to individual sessions on the grass at Carrington, a clear sign he is closing in on a return.

Dorgu’s last appearance came in the thrilling 3-2 win over Arsenal at the Emirates, where he got on the scoresheet and underlined his growing importance to the team. Since then, United have badly missed his energy, athleticism and balance on the left side.

The club are keen not to rush him, gradually increasing his workload as he reaches the final phase of rehabilitation. There is no fixed comeback date yet, but United expect him to be part of the squad travelling to Ireland for a four-day training camp at Carlton House next week.

With the season entering its decisive stretch, Dorgu’s imminent availability offers Michael Carrick a valuable option for the run-in. His return could prove vital as United juggle domestic demands and push for strong finishes on multiple fronts.
