Elias Saad’s return to FC St. Pauli’s squad has been eagerly anticipated, but head coach Alexander Blessin is urging caution.
Despite being fully fit after recovering from a three-and-a-half-month ankle injury, Saad has yet to make his comeback on the pitch. Blessin emphasized the importance of taking things slow, stating, “The boy was injured for three and a half months. Now leave the church in the village!”
Saad has been back in full team training for a week, and while Blessin is eager to see him play, he knows that rushing the recovery could lead to setbacks. “We do well to build it up and bring it really slowly. That was my intention. Elias can and will help us a lot. At the moment it’s just too early,” said Blessin.
Although Saad may make a brief appearance in Saturday’s clash with FC Augsburg, Blessin remains cautious, sticking with a successful squad for now and prioritizing the long-term well-being of his key midfielder.
