Awa, the wife of Guinean footballer Pascal Feindouno, has been sentenced to 15 months in prison and fined 40,000 euros by a court in Saint-Etienne, France. She was found guilty of active corruption in the context of residence card trafficking. Pascal Feindouno was not present at the hearing, and the family’s lawyer announced their intention to appeal. Awa Feindouno was indicted in June 2011 for paying around 3,000 euros per file to an employee of the Loire prefecture to obtain residence permits for relatives, including those of the Guinean Minister of Urban Planning and Housing at the time.
