Paris Saint Germain have withdrawn their interest in Franco-Algerian attacker Rayan Cherki ahead of the summer transfer window.
Cherki has been a long-term target for the French Ligue 1 giants due to his swashbuckling performance for Olympique Lyon. Negotiation for the acquisition of Cherki between PSG and Lyon has always broken down.
Recently, the 21-year-old forward expressed interest in joining PSG, stating that he would love to share the dressing room with Ousmane Dembélé or Bradley Barcola.
But it appears his dream has been shut, with PSG ruling out a move for the talented attacker this summer.
The Paris-based club now has no plans to open talks with the player’s entourage or his club at the end of the season over a possible. PSG now sees the signing of Cherki as less important, believing his position is well covered at the moment.
This season, the 24-year-old attacker has scored 12 goals and provided 19 assists in 43 appearances across competitions.
Despite huge interest, Cherki’s current contract with Lyon is expected to expire in the summer of 2026.
