Following a brief respite granted by coach Luis Enrique, Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi is set to return to training with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, February 6. Hakimi, who was given time off after Morocco’s exit from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, is expected to rejoin the squad as they prepare for upcoming fixtures.
Despite being absent during PSG’s recent triumph over Strasbourg (2-1) on Saturday, February 3, the 25-year-old Lion of the Atlas is poised to participate in training sessions ahead of the team’s upcoming challenges.
Hakimi is anticipated to feature in PSG’s next encounter against Brest scheduled for Wednesday, February 7, at 9 p.m. The match, set to take place at the Parc des Princes, is part of the Round of 16 in the Coupe de France.
Having been a part of the 27-player squad selected by national coach Walid Regragui for the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, Hakimi contributed to Morocco’s campaign, which unfortunately concluded with a 0-2 defeat against South Africa.
As he returns to club duties, Hakimi’s presence is expected to bolster PSG’s defensive lineup in the competitions ahead.
