Newly-promoted French Ligue 1 side Paris FC are on the verge of sealing a deal to sign Canadian forward of Nigerian descent, Promise Akinpelu.
The club wants to sign the youngster as their major signing to augment their squad for the 2025/26 football season.
Currently plying his trade with Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise, Akinpelu enjoyed a breakout season, netting 21 goals and providing five assists in 39 appearances across all competitions.
His imposing 1.95m frame and commanding presence up front have caught the attention of Paris FC’s new leadership, which has been buoyed by fresh investment from Red Bull and the Arnault family.
While other names such as Lucas Stassin (Anderlecht) and Gaëtan Perrin (Auxerre) have surfaced in transfer rumours, Akinpelu has emerged as the top priority for the coveted No.9 role.
Although Lille had been linked with Promise Akinpelu, Paris FC have made the breakthrough and are expected to secure the services of the Nigerian striker this month.
