Senegal Lions striker Papa Modou Sougou, currently on vacation in Senegal, has expressed his ambition for the upcoming season with Olympique de Marseille (OM). Sougou, who joined OM six months ago from Cluj (Romania), played a role in the team’s successful qualification for the Champions League.
Speaking about the achievement, Sougou credited the success to the collective effort of the entire team, stating, “It is the work of a whole group, who believed in it a lot.” Despite having only served six months of his 3.5-year contract with OM, Sougou aims to do even better in the next season.
He also discussed the Senegal national team’s journey in the World Cup qualifiers, highlighting the team’s determination and expressing confidence that they will continue to show resilience in the upcoming matches, particularly the final group game against Uganda in September.
Papa Modou Sougou, who was first called up to the Senegal national team in 2007, has accumulated 14 caps with one goal for the Lions.
