Portuguese coach Jaime Pacheco, the manager of Pyramids FC, has clarified his alleged derogatory remarks towards the Egyptian media following the team’s departure from the Egyptian Super Cup against Future FC.

Pyramids FC lost a marathon penalty shootout 14-13 against Future FC in the semi-finals of the Egyptian Super Cup, held at the Mohamed Bin Zayed Stadium.

As Pyramids prepares to face Ceramica Cleopatra in the match to determine the third and fourth positions in the Egyptian Super Cup, Pacheco addressed the media in a press conference, stating, “I deeply respect the Egyptian media.

It was never my intention to insult the Egyptian press.

Throughout my time in Egypt, I have never deviated from the norm and am pleased to be here.”

He continued, “I never intended to insult any individual or the Egyptian media.

Nevertheless, mutual respect must be upheld in any case.”

Clarifying further, Pacheco said, “The question about my departure from the club greatly provoked me. I felt a lack of respect.

Hence, the response was strong, especially after the loss and elimination from the Super Cup.”

Reflecting on the match against Future FC, he commented, “We played a strong game against Future, and we deserved to win and advance.

However, luck was not on the players’ side during the penalty shootout, even though we came very close three times to settling the outcome during the penalty kicks.”

Continuing his remarks, Pacheco highlighted, “The language of penalty shootouts depends on focus, which was lacking in some of the players during the scoring.

Consequently, the loss and exit from the Super Cup occurred.”

As Pyramids FC aims to secure the third position in the competition against Ceramica Cleopatra, Pacheco emphasized the need to move forward and focus on future challenges.

The manager expressed his commitment to respecting the Egyptian media and maintaining professionalism throughout his tenure in Egypt.
