Pablo Franco Martín leaves Maghreb de Fès after historic Botola Pro triumph
Spanish coach Pablo Franco Martín has left Moroccan giants Maghreb Association Sportive de Fès (MAS Fès) shortly after guiding the club to a historic Botola Pro league title.
Franco Martín’s departure comes after a remarkable campaign in which he ended MAS Fès’ 41-year wait for the Moroccan top-flight championship, delivering one of the greatest achievements in the club’s history.
The former AmaZulu head coach took charge of MAS Fès at the start of the season and quickly transformed the team into serious title contenders, competing against established Moroccan powerhouses such as RS Berkane, Raja Casablanca and AS FAR.
Under his leadership, MAS Fès produced a consistent campaign and secured the Botola Pro crown, bringing back memories of the club’s previous league success more than four decades after their last triumph.
The Spanish tactician’s achievement has been widely praised, with his tactical approach, squad management and ability to build a competitive team credited as key factors behind the club’s return to the summit of Moroccan football.
Despite the historic success, MAS Fès have decided to part ways with Franco Martín, ending a short but highly successful chapter that saw him become one of the most celebrated coaches in the club’s modern history.
The coach leaves behind a lasting legacy at the Fès-based club, having delivered a league title that supporters had waited 41 years to celebrate and restoring MAS Fès among Morocco’s elite football teams.
