France forward of Malian descent, Ousmane Dembele, has been named UEFA Champions League Player of the Season for the 2024/25 season.
After winning the UEFA Champions League title with Paris Saint-Germain, Dembele is now the favourite to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or.
Meanwhile, the manager of Paris Saint-Germain, Luis Enrique, has backed Ousmane Dembele to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or following the team’s triumph in the UEFA Champions League.
Dembele was in action for the French Champions in the final of this season’s UEFA Champions League on Saturday night.
The in-form attacker put up a top performance, helping PSG to thump Inter Milan 5-0 at the end of the one-sided contest to win the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Coach Luis Enrique said Ousmane Dembele deserves to win the Ballon d’Or.
“He [Dembele] has led a team with humility and leadership. The way he defended tonight… only that can be worth the Ballon d’Or. This is how you lead a team. Goals, titles, leadership, defending, and how he was pressing.
“Ousmane is my Ballon d’Or. No doubts at all,” Enrique said after the game.
