France defender of Malian descent, Ibrahima Konate, has backed Ousmane Dembele to win the 2025 Ballon d’Or award.
According to him, Dembele is the most deserving of the award after having an outstanding season with PSG.
“We talk about Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappé… But no one talks about Ousmane Dembélé. He has delivered an exceptional season. I have honestly no other words to describe it. Nobody expected it. I’m the happiest man for him.
“In all honesty, the most deserving Ballon d’Or winner is Ousmane Dembélé,” Ibrahima Konate said in a pre-match press conference ahead of France’s encounter with Spain in the UEFA Nations League semi-final.
Ousmane Dembele has had an outstanding season with PSG.
The forward at the end of the 2024/25 campaign won the European Champions League with PSG and was named the best player in the continental tournament.
With 33 goals and 15 assists, he led the season for the club from the French capital, which also secured a hat-trick of domestic titles (Ligue 1, Coupe de France, Trophée des Champions).
