France forward of Senegalese descent, Ousmane Dembele, starred with a top performance on Wednesday night, helping PSG to beat Tottenham Hotspur to claim the 2025 UEFA Super Cup.
Tottenham drew first blood in the 39th minute when Micky van de Ven pounced on a loose ball in the box and calmly slotted home from close range.
Spurs doubled their lead just after the restart, with Cristian Romero powering a thunderous long-range header into the right corner in the 48th minute.
PSG, however, refused to bow out quietly. In the 85th minute, Kang-In Lee ignited the comeback with a superb strike from the edge of the box, finding the bottom right corner beyond the goalkeeper’s reach.
French champions kept pushing, and deep into stoppage time, Gonçalo Ramos met a pinpoint cross with a precise header into the left corner to level the score.
With momentum fully in their favour, PSG’s relentless attack, orchestrated by Dembélé’s creativity and pace, proved decisive at full-time when the game had to be decided on penalties.
The Parisians beat Spurs 4-3 in the shootout to clinch the Super Cup.
