Napoli’s sporting director, Giovanni Manna, has revealed the club’s intention to resolve Victor Osimhen’s future as soon as possible.
The Nigerian striker is currently on loan at Galatasaray for the 2024–25 season, following a series of transfer speculations last summer.
Osimhen’s loan move to Galatasaray came after potential transfers to Al-Ahli and Chelsea fell through during the summer window.
Since joining the Turkish side, he has made a significant impact, recording 14 goals in 19 Süper Lig appearances and contributing six goals in seven European matches.
His performance has attracted interest from top European clubs, including Manchester United, who are reportedly receiving regular updates on his availability.
“Victor is always going to be a hotly-debated topic and not just on the transfer market,” Manna told Sky Italia.
“He is an appetising player for clubs, he has a clause and everyone knows this, we are working to find a solution as quickly as possible, so that we can avoid what happened last year.”
In addition to discussing Osimhen, Manna reflected on the €75 million January sale of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Paris Saint-Germain.
“There are certainly regrets, as it is never easy to lose an important player mid-season.
“We talked about it a lot, but in my view the situation was also twisted. What it leaves me with is the intention to always be ready to deal with things we cannot control, but we are certain that we did the right thing there.”
