Belgian forward Michy Batshuayi and Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen do not complement each other on the pitch, claims former Beşiktaş player and football analyst Sinan Engin.
His comments come after Galatasaray’s 1-1 draw with AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Europa League, where Osimhen scored but struggled to connect with Batshuayi.
Engin praised Mauro Icardi, currently sidelined with injury, as the ideal partner for Osimhen, citing his game intelligence.
He suggested alternatives like Dries Mertens or midfield reinforcements to better support Osimhen in Icardi’s absence.
Batshuayi recently declared himself superior to Osimhen “technically,” but doubts linger over the duo’s ability to forge a successful partnership upfront.
