Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro isn’t underestimating the challenge Pyramids FC pose as the two sides prepare to battle in the CAF Champions League semi-final first leg at Soccer City Stadium.
The Orlando boss described the Egyptian club as a complete and dangerous side, pointing to their form and achievements this season.
“Pyramids are leading the Egyptian league and have qualified for the final of the Egyptian Cup and have qualified for the semi-finals of the Champions League, which confirms the quality of this team,” Riveiro said at the pre-match press conference.
“We have studied Pyramids’ style of play and we will do our best to stop the team’s danger, and they certainly did not qualify for the semi-finals by chance.”
He also praised his own squad’s journey through the tournament. “Orlando is also a strong team and we went up deservedly, because we have been performing very well throughout the tournament,” he noted.
Riveiro expects a balanced encounter, calling attention to Pyramids’ mix of experience, youth, and possession-based style.
