Orlando Pirates aim to extend unbeaten start against Kruger United

Orlando Pirates return to Betway Premiership action on Tuesday evening when they face Kruger United at Mbombela Stadium, with the two sides entering the contest at opposite ends of the table.

The Buccaneers are top of the league after winning three of their opening four matches and drawing the other. They will also arrive in confident mood after a 3-0 victory over Sekhukhune United in the semi-finals of the MTN8.

Kruger United, by contrast, have found their first season in the top flight difficult. The Village boys are bottom of the Betway Premiership standings, having collected only one point from four matches. Their record includes one draw and three defeats, while they have scored just twice.

Pirates’ most recent league fixture away from home ended in a convincing 3-0 win against struggling Chippa United. Kruger United will be looking to respond after losing their latest home match to Durban City.

The meeting will mark the first competitive fixture between the clubs. Orlando Pirates have a long-standing history in South African football, while Kruger United have existed for only three years.

Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30.
