Liverpool May Recall Divock Origi in January Amid Striker Crisis
Divock Origi, currently on loan at Lille for the 2014/2015 season, could make an early move to Liverpool, according to reports from Belgian and English media. Initially set to spend the full season in France after being signed by the Reds, the Belgian-Congolese forward may be recalled in January.
The potential change in plans is driven by Liverpool’s attacking struggles. With Daniel Sturridge sidelined due to persistent injuries and Mario Balotelli struggling to find form, manager Brendan Rodgers is reportedly eager to strengthen his attacking options.
However, any early termination of the loan deal would require a mutual agreement between Liverpool, Lille, and Origi’s representatives. The key question remains what compensation or benefit Lille would receive for releasing the young striker mid-season.
As of now, no formal agreement has been reached, but the situation is being closely monitored.
