Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana of Manchester United FC reflects on overcoming the challenging times he faced in the early months after his transfer to the Red Devils from Inter Milan, indicating that he is poised to shine from now on and beyond.

Onana joined Manchester United in a deal worth $60 million last summer, but he committed a significant number of errors at the beginning of the season in the English Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.

Acknowledging the difficulties of adapting to the new environment, Onana said, “I needed a period of 6 to 7 months to feel good.

I went through tough times, it was hard for me to feel at home, but things are better now.”

“I don’t want to talk about my performance because I know what kind of goalkeeper I am.

What matters most to me is to be happy, and I will shine,” he added.

Onana further stated, “I believe I have reached a turning point not only on the field but mentally because everything has changed.”

Explaining his transition process, he said, “Naturally, I moved from Ajax to Inter last season, but this transition was easy.

On the contrary, I needed 7 or 8 months here.

It was an opportunity for me to learn and deal with each game individually.”

He highlighted the support he received from his teammates since joining the team, saying, “They have always believed in me, they told me from the beginning, listen Andre, the quality is there, it’s just a matter of time.”

“I am very happy, especially with the fans of the team, they have been kind to me even in the tough times, and I am very grateful to them, I can only thank them,” he concluded.
