Egyptian international Omar Marmoush, a player for Eintracht Frankfurt, revealed the behind-the-scenes details of his goal against Bochum, during which he sustained an injury in the German league.
Bochum visited Frankfurt as guests at the Deutsche Bank Park as part of the 21st round of the German league.
Marmoush played as a starter and scored his team’s opening goal for Frankfurt in the 14th minute of the match.
He was then substituted in the 65th minute due to injury.
Marmoush stated in remarks to the official Bundesliga channel, “As a forward, my task with the team is to score goals and assist my team, not just score for personal glory.”
He continued, “In the Bochum match, I touched the ball, which was about to go out, and I saw the post. At that moment, I thought I couldn’t miss this opportunity.”
“I told myself, let me put the ball in the net, and we’ll see what happens next,” he added.
Marmoush further elaborated, “I scored the goal and my leg hit the post, it was somewhat painful, and I still feel it now, but it was a wonderful feeling in the end.”
“Scoring goals is always enjoyable, and it drives us to continue, to achieve good results that make the atmosphere wonderful in the stadium,” he added.
He concluded, “It’s like electricity, when you score or create a goal, or put on a great performance, that’s what we live for in front of the fans.”
It is worth noting that Marmoush has scored 10 goals with his team Frankfurt in the German league this season.
He currently occupies the seventh position in the table of top scorers in the German league.
