Omar Marmoush outshines Lewandowski with scoring streak in Bundesliga

Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush continues to make headlines in the Bundesliga, surpassing Robert Lewandowski and Harry Kane with his impressive goal-scoring form this season. The Eintracht Frankfurt striker, fresh off international duty, scored his fourth consecutive goal on Saturday during a 2-1 defeat against Bayer Leverkusen, marking his growing influence in European football.

Marmoush, who now has 33 caps and 6 goals for Egypt, opened the scoring with a penalty in the 16th minute before Frankfurt’s lead was overturned by Leverkusen.

This latest goal extends his prolific run across both domestic and European competitions.

Prior to this match, the 25-year-old netted a brace and provided two assists in Frankfurt’s 4-2 victory over Kiel on September 29.

He followed that up with another penalty in the Europa League against Besiktas on October 3, before delivering a standout performance against Bayern Munich with an assist and two goals in a thrilling 3-3 draw on October 6.

What’s even more remarkable is Marmoush’s consistency. He has now been directly involved in a goal in six consecutive Bundesliga matches, amassing a total of 9 goals and 4 assists in those games.

Across all competitions, the Cairo-born striker has contributed 10 goals and 6 assists, making him one of the most decisive players in Europe’s top five leagues this season.

At this point in the campaign, Marmoush has temporarily pulled ahead of Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski, who boasts 12 goals and 2 assists.

These performances are certain to attract further attention, with Marmoush emerging as a contender for the African Ballon d’Or.

However, the competition for the coveted award remains fierce, particularly with strong candidates like Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy of Borussia Dortmund and Nigeria’s Victor Boniface, who netted the winning goal for Leverkusen in Saturday’s clash.

As Marmoush continues his stellar form, he is positioning himself among Europe’s elite strikers, proving to be a key player for Eintracht Frankfurt and a rising star on the international stage.

Whether he can maintain this momentum throughout the season and claim individual honors remains to be seen, but for now, he stands ahead of some of the game’s biggest names.
