Omar Janneh linked with Borussia Monchengladbach move from Lausanne-Sport
Spain and The Gambia forward Omar Janneh is the subject of a reported move from Lausanne-Sport to Borussia Monchengladbach.
The 20-year-old centre-forward has been a regular for Lausanne-Sport at the start of the 2026-27 Swiss Super League season, appearing in all five of their matches and recording one goal and one assist. He has also scored twice and provided one assist in the Swiss Cup.
Janneh joined Lausanne-Sport from Atletico Madrileno in January 2026 in a €2m transfer and remains under contract with the Swiss club until June 2030. His current market value is €4m.
A move to Monchengladbach would take Janneh to the Bundesliga, although the reported interest has not been confirmed and there is no indication of an agreed fee or completed negotiations.
Born in Lleida, Janneh developed in Spain before moving to Lausanne-Sport. He came through the youth systems at Espanyol and Granada before joining Atletico Madrid’s academy, later progressing to Atletico Madrileno.
Janneh has started every league match for Lausanne-Sport this season and has played 98% of the available Super League minutes, placing him firmly in the club’s current first-choice attacking group. Any transfer would therefore involve a player who has established an immediate role at Lausanne-Sport since the start of the new campaign, despite having joined the club only earlier this year.
