Omar Gaber, a key player for Zamalek’s first football team, has spoken about the highly anticipated match against Al Ahly in the final of the 2022-2023 Egypt Cup.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will host the clash between Al Ahly and Zamalek in the Egypt Cup final, marking the first time in the tournament’s history for such an event to take place abroad.

The match will take place at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in Riyadh, in what promises to be a historic final with a full-capacity crowd.

Speaking at the press conference ahead of the match, Omar Gaber said, “It’s an important match and a prestigious championship that we aim to win to delight the Zamalek fans.

The players are fully focused, and our goal is to clinch the coveted title.”

He continued, “We thank everyone for their warm welcome and hospitality, and we hope that luck will be on our side in the match, God willing.”

Zamalek advanced to the final after defeating Pyramids in a penalty shootout in the semifinals, while Al Ahly overcame ENPPI with a 3-0 victory.

It’s worth noting that Al Ahly clinched the title in the previous edition of the Egypt Cup, defeating Pyramids 2-1 in the final.
