Omar El Sawy linked with UTA Arad stay after Rapid loan switch

Romanian-Egyptian winger Omar El Sawy, currently with UTA Arad, has been linked with a move to UTA Arad from parent club FC Rapid 1923.

The 22-year-old right winger joined UTA on loan on 2 September 2026, with the arrangement due to run until 30 June 2027. The reported move would keep El Sawy at the SuperLiga club beyond his recent switch, although no permanent transfer has been confirmed.

El Sawy has made five appearances for UTA in the SuperLiga this season, providing one assist. He has played 74 minutes without starting a match, contributing to 13% of the club’s goal involvement during his appearances.

His move to UTA followed the end of a loan spell at U Cluj, where he spent the 2025-26 season. Rapid remain his parent club, having signed him from FK Csikszereda in July 2023 for €400,000.

El Sawy’s current market value is listed at €550,000. His existing association with Rapid runs alongside the loan agreement at UTA, which is scheduled to conclude at the end of June 2027.

Any longer-term agreement with UTA would therefore need to be negotiated separately from the current loan arrangement.
