Saber Khalifa Set to Leave Marseille, Swap Deal with Abdelmoumene Djabou in Talks
After a disappointing 2013-2014 season, Saber Khalifa is no longer part of Marcelo Bielsa’s plans at Olympique de Marseille. The Tunisian forward, who previously played for Evian, is expected to join Club Africain soon.
Meanwhile, Marseille aims to capitalize on Khalifa’s departure by pursuing a swap deal with Abdelmoumene Djabou, the Algerian star who shone at the 2014 World Cup. According to Aigle de Carthage, OM’s sporting director José Anigo is negotiating to bring Djabou to the club in exchange for Khalifa.
Djabou notably scored the decisive goal against Germany in the Round of 16 in Brazil, increasing his appeal among Marseille scouts.
