Olisa Ndah: Nigeria defender and free agent linked with Mamelodi Sundowns move
Nigeria centre-back Olisa Ndah, currently without a club after leaving Stellenbosch FC, has been linked with a move to South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 28-year-old defender is a free agent following the end of his spell at Stellenbosch, making a potential switch to Sundowns possible without a transfer fee as the Betway Premiership side assess defensive options.
Ndah is a 1.90m right-footed centre-back who has spent the bulk of his recent career in South Africa, most notably with Orlando Pirates, where his market value rose significantly during his time in Johannesburg.
His value climbed from 25,000 when he joined Pirates from Nigerian side Akwa United in August 2021 to a peak of 900,000 in June 2024, before settling at an estimated 400,000 in June 2026 during his stint at Stellenbosch.
Born in Enugu State, Ndah moved from Remo Stars to Akwa United in 2019, impressing in the Nigerian top flight before earning his initial move to the DStv Premiership and establishing himself as a prominent defender in the league.
He briefly left Orlando Pirates to become a free agent in January 2026, joined Stellenbosch in February, and then departed again at the start of July, placing him back on the market as Sundowns explore a deal.
No agreement has been reached and the rumour currently centres on Sundowns interest in signing Ndah as a free agent ahead of the new Betway Premiership campaign.
