OGC Nice have set a price tag of between €20 million and €25 million for Algerian international Hicham Boudaoui, making clear their stance on the midfielder’s potential departure during the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old, who joined the Ligue 1 side from Paradou AC in 2019, is under contract at the Allianz Riviera until June 2027.
Despite his long-term deal, Nice’s hierarchy are willing to consider offers that meet their valuation, following what has been described in the French press as firm interest from abroad.
Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg were among the first to make an approach, submitting a bid worth around €10 million. However, Nice swiftly rejected the proposal, considering it far below their expectations for a player regarded as one of the squad’s most consistent performers.
Wolfsburg have reportedly maintained their pursuit, but the French club’s refusal indicates they are prepared to stand firm on their demands.
Boudaoui, meanwhile, is believed to be open to a new adventure away from Ligue 1. After five seasons on the French Riviera, he is said to be eager for a fresh challenge in a league with greater competitive ambition.
This desire for progression aligns with his growing reputation as a reliable midfielder, both domestically and on the international stage with Algeria.
The midfielder has become a key figure in Nice’s squad since his arrival, recognised for his tireless work rate, technical intelligence, and versatility in multiple midfield roles.
His performances have also kept him in regular contention for the Algerian national team, strengthening his profile in the transfer market.
With the window still open, the next move will largely depend on whether potential suitors are prepared to meet Nice’s financial expectations. Wolfsburg remain in the frame, but the German side would likely need to return with a significantly improved offer to advance negotiations.
Other clubs may also emerge in the coming weeks, particularly those seeking a midfielder with Boudaoui’s blend of defensive stability and attacking contribution.
For Nice, the situation presents a balancing act. While they value Boudaoui as an important squad member, the club’s willingness to attach a clear asking price suggests they are not entirely closed to the idea of his departure—if the right deal materialises.
As the transfer window progresses, Boudaoui’s future will remain under close watch. Whether he continues his journey at Nice or secures a move to a more ambitious European league, the Algerian international appears ready for the next significant step in his career.
