Florian Thauvin’s transfer saga has finally concluded on the last day of the transfer window. After more than a month of negotiations and clashes between Lille and Marseille, Thauvin officially signed for OM.
The player arrives from Lille on a 5-year contract, and the transfer fee is reported to be 12 million euros for the Mastiffs. Thauvin is set to receive a monthly salary of 200,000 euros.
The U20 world champion had previously signed for Lille from Bastia in January but did not make any appearances in the Northern jersey. Thauvin’s arrival marks Marseille’s second signing of the day, following the recruitment of Mario Lemina from Lorient. The additions of Thauvin and Lemina contribute to OM’s efforts to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season.
