Dove Wome Joins SuperSport United on Loan from Mamelodi Sundowns
After a brief spell at Mamelodi Sundowns, Togolese midfielder Dove Wome has officially moved to SuperSport United on a one-season loan, with an option to buy. Wome joined Sundowns just last year on a three-year contract but quickly found himself out of favor due to strong competition in midfield.
Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane explained:
“Wome scored six goals last year with us, but this season we can’t guarantee him a starting spot. There are already a lot of players in his position. He has the option to leave.”
The transfer came as part of a deal that saw Sundowns finalize the signing of Senegalese striker Mame Niang from SuperSport. Dove Wome was officially presented to his new club during a lively ceremony where SuperSport also unveiled their new jerseys for the upcoming season.
This marks Wome’s third club in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League (PSL), having previously played for Free State Stars and Mamelodi Sundowns.
