Alvaro Morata Joins Juventus in €20m Deal
Juventus have officially completed the signing of Spanish striker Álvaro Morata from Real Madrid. The 21-year-old forward arrived in Turin on Friday and finalized his move on Saturday, putting pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Italian champions.
The transfer fee is reported to be €20 million, payable over three years. However, the deal includes a buy-back clause, allowing Real Madrid to re-sign Morata at the end of either the 2015–16 or 2016–17 season for €30 million, should they wish to reintegrate him into their squad.
Morata, a product of Real Madrid’s youth system, made 34 appearances and scored nine goals for Los Blancos last season. Despite showing promise, he struggled for consistent starting opportunities in a squad packed with attacking talent.
Juventus have moved decisively to bolster their forward line, and Morata’s arrival signals their intent to rejuvenate the squad with youthful energy following their recent domestic successes. The Spanish international is expected to add versatility and depth to Massimiliano Allegri’s attacking options.
Morata becomes the latest in a long line of young talents to make the switch from Spain to Italy, where he will aim to develop further and establish himself as a regular first-team presence.
