The Egyptian Football Association has officially announced receiving approval from the security authorities for the attendance of 30,000 fans at the Egypt vs. New Zealand match the day after tomorrow, Friday, in the opening of the Capital Cup Friendly Tournament hosted in Cairo.
In a press release issued by the Egyptian Football Association, it was stated that the match will take place at the “Egypt” Stadium in the New Administrative Capital, with a capacity for 30,000 spectators.
The coordination meeting for the match confirmed the attendance of 30,000 fans.
In the other semifinal of the Capital Cup, Croatia will face Tunisia next Saturday at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo.
Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, in statements to ON Time Sports channel, urged the fans to attend the Capital Cup matches and support the Pharaohs in their match against New Zealand.
He emphasized that buses will be provided free of charge to transport fans to the stadium from vital areas in Cairo and the Suez Road, clarifying that this quadrangular tournament is crucial for Egypt’s preparation for the World Cup qualifiers.
He noted that the Ministry of Sports does not hesitate to support the Egyptian national team, especially since Hossam Hassan, the new head coach of the Pharaohs, has an important goal, which is to win the matches in June’s World Cup qualifiers.
Hany Abo Rida, former member of the FIFA Council, stated in television statements that including the tournament in FIFA series is important because Egypt is a significant country.
He pointed out that the opening of the Egypt Stadium will be a strong addition to Egypt’s sports infrastructure.
