According to The Sun, Newcastle is exploring the possibility of acquiring Nigerian striker Peter Odemwingie from West Bromwich Albion as a potential replacement for Senegalese player Demba Ba. Although Ba’s departure has been anticipated, no agreement has been reached with any interested clubs. Despite this, Newcastle is actively seeking alternatives.
The Sun reported on Wednesday that Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is keenly interested in Peter Odemwingie, and discussions between the two clubs have commenced since the opening of the transfer window. The potential transfer fee for Odemwingie, 31, is estimated to be around £3 million.
With 18 months remaining on his contract with West Bromwich Albion, Odemwingie may be sold during the winter transfer window. The club is looking to capitalize on a transfer fee before the player’s value decreases.
