Manchester United’s pre-season tour has taken off without one of its key summer stars, Noussair Mazraoui.
The Moroccan defender is still on the mend after picking up a knock during training last week and was again missing in Thursday’s 4-1 win over Bournemouth.
The 27-year-old has yet to feature in any of United’s summer friendlies, having also sat out the clash against West Ham last Sunday. Despite the absence, reports from England suggest the injury is minor, and the full-back could return to action as early as next week.
United boss Ruben Amorim is said to be keeping faith in Mazraoui’s readiness, with hopes that he will be fit for the next game against Everton this coming Sunday in the United States.
Mazraoui joined the Red Devils last summer from Bayern Munich and has since played 58 times in red. With a contract running until 2028, he is expected to play a major role this season, provided he returns to full fitness in time.
