Nogoom FC challenges Pyramids FC’s license in bold move
Nogoom FC has taken a stand, with President Mohamed El-Tawila lodging a formal complaint against Pyramids FC, questioning the legitimacy of their local participation license for the ongoing season.
The move has sparked buzz in Egyptian football circles, as Nogoom pushes for accountability.
El-Tawila told Kooora, “We filed the official complaint because Pyramids FC obtained the local participation license from the Federation without any legal basis.”
“The previous board of the Federation, headed by Gamal Allam, granted Pyramids FC the license despite violating the conditions, most notably the absence of any debts owed to them. He also misled CAF on this point.”
Nogoom’s grievance isn’t just about Pyramids. The club secured a ruling to collect unpaid dues from Mahmoud Saber’s transfer to Pyramids, which remain unsettled. Meanwhile, El-Tawila demanded a tougher penalty on Ismaily for unpaid dues tied to Ibrahim Hassan’s move to Zamalek.
“The Egyptian Football Association was fined 30,000 Swiss francs by FIFA for not implementing the ruling issued in our favor, and Ismaily has not yet implemented it, and therefore the penalty must be increased by deducting 3 points from the club’s balance.
“We requested that the penalty be increased within a month, and if the penalty is not implemented, the Egyptian Football Association will be fined again with up to 15 million pounds.”
The saga has fans on edge, awaiting the Federation’s response.
