I have not received any offer from Ghana – Carlos Queiroz
Carlos Queiroz has dismissed reports suggesting he is in line to become the next head coach of the Ghana national football team, stating clearly that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has not approached.
The experienced Portuguese tactician had been heavily linked with the role over the past 48 hours, following the dismissal of Otto Addo. Speculation intensified after Ghana’s recent struggles, including failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Queiroz, who recently parted ways with the Oman national football team by mutual consent despite having a contract that ran until June, addressed the rumours in an interview with Kooora, a platform affiliated with Footballco.
He firmly denied receiving any offers from either Ghana or Saudi Arabia, putting to rest growing speculation about his next destination.
“My departure from the Omani national team has nothing to do with any interest from other parties,” he explained.
The former Real Madrid coach also took the opportunity to express appreciation for his time in Oman, highlighting the support he received from both officials and supporters.
“I just want to express my gratitude for the way I was received and treated in Oman, both by the officials and the fans,” he said.
Addressing the rumours directly, Queiroz added, “There has been no contact between me and the Saudi Federation, and no one from Ghana has spoken to me.”
He further clarified that external factors influenced his exit from the Omani national team, particularly concerns over regional instability.
Queiroz stressed that his departure was “due to the unstable security situation in the Gulf region as a result of the war, and there is no other reason.”
Despite ongoing speculation, the veteran coach’s comments suggest that, for now, there are no discussions in place regarding a potential move to lead the Black Stars.
