‘No contact from Ghana’ – Joachim Low dismisses Black Stars links

Former Germany head coach Joachim Löw has distanced himself from growing speculation linking him with the vacant Ghana national football team job, insisting that no official approach has been made.

Reports circulating suggested the 66-year-old was close to agreeing a short-term deal to lead Ghana at the next FIFA World Cup. The proposed arrangement was said to be limited to the tournament set to be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

However, Löw has firmly played down those reports, making it clear that discussions have not taken place. Speaking to Sky Sport, the World Cup-winning coach said: “With me, officially no one from Ghana has spoken.”

His response casts significant doubt over the likelihood of any imminent appointment, despite Ghana’s ongoing search for a new head coach.

The Black Stars are currently without a manager following the dismissal of Otto Addo, who was relieved of his duties shortly after the team’s recent defeat to Germany.

Löw, who has been out of management since stepping down from the Germany national team after Euro 2020, remains one of the most experienced international coaches available.

He guided Germany to World Cup success in 2014 and oversaw a sustained period of consistency at major tournaments.

While he has previously indicated he is open to returning to coaching under the right conditions, his latest comments suggest Ghana have not yet made a move for his services.
