Tolu Arokodare has set a new career personal best after scoring his 16th goal of the season for KRC Genk in the Belgian Jupiler Pro League.
The Nigerian striker surpassed his previous record with a goal against Sporting Charleroi, having equalled his former tally of 15 goals in a single season against Standard Liège on 14 February.
His latest strike, netted in the 70th minute from a cross by Jarne Steuckers, further cemented his status as Genk’s top scorer.
Arokodare’s goal put Genk ahead, though Charleroi managed to equalise late in the game.
The 24-year-old has now scored 16 goals in 28 league appearances, making him the Belgian league’s leading scorer this season.
Having found the net against 12 different teams, Arokodare has consistently demonstrated his ability to perform against various opponents.
His standout displays have fuelled hopes of earning a call-up to Nigeria’s national team under coach Éric Chelle for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
