Stade Rennais are on the verge of signing Nigerian-born Belgian forward Kazeem Olaigbe from Belgian Pro League side Cercle Bruges, with the transfer expected to be finalised today.
According to reports from Ouest-France and Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri, negotiations between the two clubs are at an advanced stage, with Rennes closing in on an agreement for the 22-year-old winger.
Olaigbe, who primarily operates on the left flank, has been in impressive form this season, netting eight goals and registering one assist in 31 appearances.
Though he has represented Belgium at the U21 level, the forward remains eligible to play for Nigeria’s Super Eagles.
With the deal nearing completion, Rennes could welcome Olaigbe to Ligue 1 in the coming hours, further strengthening their attacking options for the remainder of the campaign.
