Nigeria’s U-17 women’s national team, the Flamingos, will take on Algeria in the final round of qualification for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The fixture was confirmed after Algeria secured their spot by convincingly defeating Botswana 4-0 in the second leg of their qualifier.
That emphatic victory ensured an overall 5-2 aggregate win for the North Africans, booking their place in the final phase of the qualification campaign.
Flamingos’ Strong Path to the Final Round
Nigeria’s journey to this stage was equally impressive. The Bankole Olowookere-led side overcame South Africa, registering a 2-0 victory in the second leg in Ikenne, Ogun State.
The win sealed a commanding 5-1 aggregate triumph, allowing the Flamingos to advance as one of Africa’s strongest contenders for a place at the global tournament.

The winners of these ties will secure their tickets to the World Cup, joining host nation Morocco in representing Africa at the tournament.
