Arsenal midfielder, Zac Shuaib, is currently undergoing a trial with Brighton & Hove Albion’s academy, signaling a potential move away from the North London club.
The 17-year-old, who has Nigerian, Spanish, and Indian heritage, has faced challenges in securing a professional contract with Arsenal and is exploring opportunities elsewhere.
Shuaib joined Arsenal’s youth setup in March 2022 after a brief stint with Tottenham Hotspur.
He signed scholarship terms with the Gunners in 2023 and has since made ten appearances for the Under-18s.
Known for his tall stature and precise passing, Shuaib has been a notable presence in the midfield.
His journey into professional football began in West London, where he played for local teams like Chiswick Youth and London Colney Colts.
Shuaib’s performances caught the attention of several clubs, leading to trials with teams such as Tottenham, Fulham, and Norwich City. Shuaib eventually settled at Arsenal, where he continued his development.
In the 2024-2025 season, Shuaib faced a significant setback due to a four-month injury layoff. He returned to training with Arsenal’s Under-18s but has not yet secured a professional contract.
This uncertainty has opened the door for a trial with Brighton & Hove Albion, where he was recently named on the bench for the Under-18s in a match against Southampton.
