Moses Simon has made it clear that his focus remains on helping FC Nantes secure their top-flight survival as the transfer window speculation intensifies.
The Nigerian winger, who has been a key player for the club since 2019, expressed his dedication to the team ahead of their crucial upcoming matches, signalling his intent to stay with the Canaries beyond the current season.
With only two matches left in the campaign and FC Nantes facing the threat of relegation, Simon’s loyalty is evident.
During a press conference ahead of the visit of Toulouse FC, the 29-year-old addressed the growing rumours surrounding his future, stating that he is fully committed to the club.
“Nantes is a great club. I’m very happy here, I love everyone, the supporters, the city. For me, it’s going well,” Simon said.
His words left little room for speculation regarding an immediate move, as he made it clear that his priority is to contribute to the club’s survival in Ligue 1.
Under contract until 2026, Simon is not contemplating a departure in the near future.
Instead, his focus is firmly on ensuring that FC Nantes remains in the top division.
Reflecting on the season, he acknowledged the team’s struggles but also highlighted some of their notable achievements, including two hard-fought draws against PSG.
“We took two points against them this season. Now the important thing is to stay up,” Simon emphasised, reiterating the collective goal for the remaining games.
The winger also offered a pragmatic assessment of the team’s style of play, which has often seen them relinquish possession in favour of counter-attacking tactics.
“It’s true that we don’t often have the ball, but there’s no choice. We know how to play like that, and we have players up front, with Matthis (Abline) too,” Simon explained.
This realism underscores his understanding of the club’s current limitations while stressing the importance of unity and focus as they fight to avoid relegation.
With the season nearing its conclusion, Moses Simon’s commitment to FC Nantes stands out amidst the usual transfer rumours.
His clear-headedness and determination make him not only a crucial figure on the pitch but also a key leader within the dressing room, offering hope to supporters that he will continue to wear the yellow and green in the years to come.
