Omonia Nicosia FC has officially announced the departure of Nigerian right winger Akinkunmi Amoo from the club. The talented young player has terminated his contract with the Cypriot football club, marking an unexpected turn of events in his professional journey.
In a press release issued by Omonia Nicosia FC on its official communication platform, the club provided insight into the departure, citing personal reasons as the motivation behind Amoo’s exit.
The statement, while respecting the privacy of the player, expressed gratitude for his contribution to the team and extended best wishes for his future endeavors:
“We inform you that Akinkunmi Amoo’s contract has been terminated for personal reasons. We thank the player for his cooperation and wish him good luck in his career.”
Akinkunmi Amoo’s association with Omonia Nicosia FC commenced in September 2023, with the duration of his contract undisclosed.
Regrettably, the promising venture was cut short on February 2, a mere six months after the arrival of the Nigerian striker.
Despite being valued at 500,000 euros, Amoo’s on-field contributions were limited to 6 matches, accumulating a total playing time of 133 minutes during his brief tenure with the club.
The departure of Akinkunmi Amoo marks a notable development in the football landscape, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding his exit and eliciting curiosity about his future career choices.
Omonia Nicosia FC, while parting ways with the young talent, acknowledges the contributions made and remains supportive of his aspirations in the world of football.
