Nigerian teenager Angelo Agbejoye handed trial opportunity at Manchester City
Nigerian winger Angelo Agbejoye has begun a trial with Manchester City after impressing the club’s scouts with his pace and technique, according to reports from Africa Foot.
The 18-year-old, who recently left Grassrunners FC, is now training with Pep Guardiola’s side in a bid to earn a contract and a potential place in City’s U21 squad.
Agbejoye has drawn comparisons to some of Africa’s emerging young forwards due to his flair, vision, and ability to cut inside from the right wing onto his stronger left foot.
City officials are said to be closely monitoring his performances in training, with early feedback highlighting his composure, dribbling skill, and confidence in one-on-one situations.
If he continues to impress over the next few weeks, Agbejoye could secure a long-term deal with the English champions.
The teenager’s development has already attracted attention across Europe.

Earlier this year, he trained with German side Hannover 96 and later went on trial with Swedish club AIK Stockholm.
AIK officials were reportedly impressed by his “X-factor” but could not finalise a transfer due to age-related restrictions.
AIK recruitment chief Fredrik Wisur Hansen previously said: “He’s a winger with a nose for goal and great speed.
“He has good finishing ability with his left foot. There’s something in him, and he will have the opportunity to grow into this.”
Agbejoye’s potential arrival at City comes amid intense competition for places in Guardiola’s attacking line.
The right wing is currently occupied by Savinho, Rayan Cherki, and Oscar Bobb, while Phil Foden can also feature in that role when required.
Savinho, who recently signed a contract extension until 2031, has contributed one goal and two assists in 10 appearances this season.
Bobb and Cherki are also pushing for regular starts following their return from injuries.
For Agbejoye, the Manchester City trial represents both a challenge and an opportunity — a chance to prove his quality among Europe’s elite and earn his breakthrough at one of the world’s top clubs.
