Nigerian midfielder Mukhtar Adam has completed a move to Norwegian club ODDS BK, signing a contract that runs until 2027 following a successful trial period.
The 21-year-old joins from Nigeria National League side Sporting Lagos, marking a significant step forward in his career.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Adam expressed his delight at the move, describing it as a lifelong ambition fulfilled.
“I’m incredibly happy and excited. This is a moment I’ve been waiting for my whole life, and it’s the biggest moment of my career so far,” he said.
The transition from Nigerian football to the Norwegian league presents a fresh challenge for Adam, but he is confident in his ability to adapt.
He acknowledged the differences in tactical approaches but remains optimistic about his development at ODDS BK.
“The football remains the same, but the tactics and the way of playing here are a little different to what I am used to,” he noted.
“I hope to adapt quickly because I already feel that it is a step up from football in Africa.
My teammates and the coaching staff have been fantastic with me – they have helped me both on and off the pitch. I really feel at home here.”
Adam, known for his strong work ethic and commitment to improvement, described his playing style as composed under pressure, physically strong in duels, and effective in tackling.
“I am calm under pressure, strong in duels and good in tackling. I am always working to improve, and I look forward to contributing to Odd in the future,” he added.
ODDS BK head coach Knut Rønningene praised Adam’s potential but emphasized the need for patience as he adjusts to a new style of play and a different footballing environment.
“Adam is an exciting player with good qualities. He has shown a lot of good things during the trial period, and we have great faith in his ability to develop with us.
At the same time, we must give him the necessary time to adapt to our style of play,” Rønningene said.
Adam’s move to ODDS BK represents an important step in his career, offering him the opportunity to gain experience in European football while continuing his development in a competitive league.
