Brighton & Hove Albion have confirmed the signing of Nigerian international goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie on a free transfer following the expiration of her contract with Paris FC.
The 24-year-old arrives on the south coast after a successful five-and-a-half-year spell in France, where she established herself as one of the top goalkeepers in Division 1 Féminine.
Nnadozie’s final season with Paris FC was marked by silverware, having played a key role in the club’s triumph in the Coupe de France Féminine.
She also featured prominently in their UEFA Women’s Champions League campaign.
Internationally, Nnadozie brings a wealth of experience, having earned 55 caps with Nigeria’s Super Falcons.
She has been a mainstay for the national team since making her senior debut in 2018 and featured in major tournaments, including the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Speaking after the announcement, Brighton manager Dario Vidošić praised the qualities Nnadozie brings to his squad: “We are delighted to welcome Chiamaka to the club. She is a talented and authoritative goalkeeper who will bring consistency and confidence to our defensive line.”
Vidošić added: “She has played at the highest level and has valuable experience in various competitions, including the Champions League. We are confident she will bring depth and dynamism to a squad already full of ambition, as we continue to build for next season.”
Nnadozie becomes Brighton’s second summer signing, following the arrival of Japanese international defender Moeka Minami.
The additions signal the club’s intent to strengthen ahead of the 2025–26 campaign, with an emphasis on international pedigree and proven quality.
At Paris FC, Nnadozie was widely respected for her shot-stopping ability, command of the box, and calm presence under pressure.
Her performances not only helped her side domestically but also on the European stage, where she stood out against some of the continent’s best attacking sides.
Now turning the page to the Women’s Super League, Nnadozie will be expected to compete for the starting role and bring her big-game experience to a Brighton side looking to rise up the table and challenge more consistently among England’s elite.
The move marks a new chapter in an already impressive career, and Nnadozie’s arrival adds further excitement to a growing project under Vidošić’s leadership.
