Nigerian centre-back Vince Osuji has joined Troms IL from Belgian champions Club Brugge on a free transfer, strengthening the Norwegian club’s defensive options for the Eliteserien season.

Osuji, 20, completed the move on 19 August 2026 after spending the previous part of his career with Club Brugge in the Jupiler Pro League. He is a right-footed defender who stands 1.88m tall and is listed primarily as a centre-back.

The transfer brings an end to Osuji’s time at Club Brugge, where he was part of the squad that won the Belgian championship in the 2025-26 season. He did not make an appearance in the recorded Jupiler Pro League Champions’ Play-Offs campaign, and has yet to feature in the opening fixtures of the 2026-27 league season or the Volkswagen Supercup.

Osuji joined Club Brugge from Swedish side Kalmar FF in January 2025 for €3m. His move to Troms IL represents a switch from Belgian football to Norway’s top flight, with the defender now beginning a new stage of his senior career in the Eliteserien.

The defender had been valued at €800,000 before the transfer. His earlier move to Club Brugge followed his arrival at Kalmar FF in April 2024, giving him experience of football in both Sweden and Belgium before his move to Norway.

Born on 6 April 2006, Osuji is one of the younger players in Troms IL’s squad. His height and preferred right foot provide a clear profile for the defensive position he occupies, while his experience with a club that lifted the Belgian title adds to the background he brings to his new team.

Troms IL have secured Osuji without a transfer fee, with the deal completed on 19 August 2026.
